I’ve been looking for a 2021 Spring Gordon State College forum, but I couldn’t find one. Just curious to know who has applied? ?

Hey y’all! I’m in the second semester ASN program. You guys should be good trust me. I had a 2.9 GPA and a 69 Kaplan score. What saved me was my critical thinking score I made a 98 they really look at that score from the Kaplan. You will get notified by mail. We found out around the 24th but with COVID they might do email this time so IDK. Good luck

Hello! I’m glad you posted this. It really eased my mind. How is the nursing program? Are you learning a lot? Also, how is your schedule? Is it Monday-Friday?

It’s a lot! First semester isn’t bad at all. It’s a breeze actually. But second semester it gets really intense. Usually have class Monday’s &Wednesday and lab Tuesday and Thursday’s Labs are usually 4 hours but you never stay that long. You only take two class pharm and foundation to nursing.

?Thank you Shoney1- I'm a non traditional student and got a 70 on my Kaplan, 3.1 GPA and my critical thinking was a 94. Your post made me feel better. I am still nervous though because all my core is not fully complete - still need Micro; Engl II (I plan on doing a CLEP for ENGL). I actually just noticed on Banner that it says I still need Statistics but I thought we take that when we are in the program? Can someone let me know.

For ASN you do not need statistics. That’s for BSN. You however do have to have micro and English completed before the start of the program.

I just noticed that one of my science is over 5 years old. Would they have sent me the email saying I met the requirements and am able to take the Kaplan if that class is too old?? Also, does the program start in Jan? If so, I won’t have time to take class before the program starts will I? I’m freaking out bc I talked to an advisor a while back and she didn’t say I needed to retake that science class!

Hey, if your advisor said it’s OK it should be. I would email Dr.Bishop to be sure. I know they want it to be under 5 years but they might be making exceptions. And yes they start in January. Y’all should be hearing back soon.

I applied too but still haven't heard anything about the Kaplan.

Hey question would u know what a good score to possibly get into the ASN program I have a 3.0 and a 76 on Kaplan
