0Just setting up a space for Gordon State College spring 2017 hopefuls to communicate and share information amongst each other as we receive it.
This is my first time applying for the nursing program, I submitted my application in the middle of July. I'm wondering when will they start mailing out letters to take the Kaplan.
Has anyone received one yet?
My overall GPA is 3.3 with a core of 3.85, hopefully I'll be getting a letter soon.
Can't wait to hear from some of you

I applied middle of july. I'm also still waiting on a letter to take the Kaplan. I did call them last week and they said since they switched the test, we will be hearing from them in about two weeks or so.
Overall GPA: 3.58
Core GPA: 3.62
Failed the critical thinking test first attempt
Never have taken the Kaplan
Thank you for responding, I didn't think anyone would. But I'm happy to know I'm not the only one wanting to connect and calm some of this anxiety. I will be looking forward to getting something in the mail in a few weeks. I hear the Kaplan is a lot easier than the critical thinking test. The Kaplan tests you on math, science, reading and writing. I purchased a study book from Amazon this week. It's the 7th edition and only cost about 14 dollars. So far it's a refresher for the a&p for me.
Have you received a letter yet? I don't like that they are waiting till after the add/drop period to send them out? Some people may want to switch their majors, in case the Kaplan test does not work out.
No I haven't, I have been checking everyday and I didn't know they were waiting for that. Do you know when the add/drop period is over? I wonder what's the reasoning behind that.
Lisa are you still posting on here? Did you take the Kaplan? I made a 69 and I don't think it would be good enough! I wish others would chime in if they are reading!
I wish others would to. I think you will be fine, I think the entrance exam is just making sure you know that basics. You were over the requirements so I think you're in, especially with your grades.
I got a 78 on the Kaplan, I bombed the writing portion. Which I wasn't worried about before taking the test. I focused mainly on the math and science when studying, now I wish I would've studied the writing. But I think we will get in.
You did great! I know you will get in! I'm trying to stay positive, but I already have a backup plan to switch to human services! Was your group size big? I don't think my group size was as big as last semester! I heard a lot of grunting while the test was going and once it was over!

Hi. I applied to the lpn-asn for spring 2017. I made an 82 on the kaplan test, however my gpa is not very strong so that's where my concern is. I was told that they are accepting 80 students and that 140 students in all took the kaplan test this application period. Not very bad odds but i am still concerned. Good luck to you all.
I think you will get accepted! Seems like they accepted people with great scores on the critical thinking exam in the previous semesters despite a low GPA.
I'm sorry, for some reason I never got any notifications for your post but my group size was fairly large, all the seats were taken up. I tested on the very last day to test. And I think you will get in also. You have the GPA for it. The letters should be going out soon so fingers crossed.
