Good sam vs. Christ school of nursing

U.S.A. Ohio

Finally applications process and interviews are over! I Got accepted to both Good Sam and Christ school of nursing program. I really liked both colleges and having a hard time choosing the one to go to. Anyone that is currently going to Good Sam or Christ program maybe can recommend or share why they like their program.

I would really appreciate any input!

I can't comment on the schools, but when I was in high school back in the Stone Age, I remember one of my classmates chose Good Samaritan over Christ because she liked Good Sam's nursing cap more than Christ Hospital's! Honestly, I didn't even know what the caps looked like and I chose Christ Hospital. Back then, I think Christ Hospital School of Nursing had the reputation of being tougher because it was a two year program. (And they weren't wrong about that!)

Good luck to you whatever your decision!

hi uswoman, Thank you for your reply.

What did you decide? I got accepted to Christ as well, but I havent sent in the deposit yet because Im not sure if I want to attend. I had planned on going to Mercy College in Toledo but their program is 3 years (a BSN program) and I just finished 4 years of undergrad. I'd rather do an ASN program and get done in 2 years an just do the RN-BSN online. Who knows, I may be content with just having the ASN.

I dont want to send in my deposit before I visit the school though and I live in MI so Im going to give them a call tomorrow and set up a meeting time.

Have you ever been to the school? If so, what did you think of it?

Hi guys. I know this forum is old but I was wondering which school you guys decided to go to. I got accepted to both and am in a dilemma trying to decide where to go. Any input is appreciated

Im at Christ, and graduate in a couple months. I cant give you any info on Good Sam because Christ is all I know.

I went on a tour the other day to Christ and I really liked the facility. I also went on a tour of Good Sam today. It seemed so dated and messy compared to Christ's facility. I want to decide where I'm going to go by the end of this week? Any quick input would be appreciated. You can also e-mail me at [email protected] so we can communicate easier. Unforutunately, I haven't earned private messaging on here yet. I hope to hear from you soon!

Sorry it took me so long to respond.

But I would definitely recommend Christ. I feel like they really prepare you for the "nursing world". They are really personable and try their absolute best to help you succeed. They also have the best NCLEX pass rate out of the 12 or so nursing programs in the area coming right after Mount St. Joseph. But considering that Mount St. Josephs nursing program is so small and that Christs program puts out well over 100 students, I would consider Christ to have the better pass rate.

I really dont know what else to tell you other than its a really great program. And yes, I would make the same decision if I had to do it all over again.

Thanks! I made the decision to go to Christ and sent in the paperwork last week. I'm glad to get some reassuring info that I made the right decision. Thanks again starmickey03! :o)
