Good resume ideas with link (IMHO)

I'm trying hard to get back on my feet in the medical world and updating my resume is not so easy. Found this article from allhealthcare at monster.com. It gives what I believe are more current thoughts on resume prep (from my research on resumes). I've been a nurse for 20 years, have a master's, had to take off 2 years to care for my parents. I apply for jobs and am told overqualified or underqualified--often the latter b/c I haven't been "officially employed" for the last 2 years. I have so many job skills and past jobs (medical and non-medical) and this article gave me ideas on how to demonstrate this in my resume.

In an attempt to get a really good up to date resume I paid someone to help me out and she gave me 2 versions and they were terrible. So be careful when you hire someone! Thankfully I did not pay in full but still I'm out 50.00. She is supposed to be a professional resume writer and I think she did give me some new ideas and in fact some of them are listed in this article. Overall though she totally missed the boat and it's as if she never wrote a nurse resume prior to mine.

Anyway, I find allnurses to be a great source of info for all of us and want to share this with everyone. I hope it helps!
