Good ER leadership

Hello all! Just wondering if anyone out there felt they had a good ER leadership team? You know, where you are supported and they don't make you look bad in front of the patients? They don't throw you to the wolves when the PG people are on you? :banghead:For the most part you are given what you need, you aren't forced to tolerate abuse from physicians, coworkers, and patients? I have to say that for the most part, our leadership fits the bill. Didn't know if anyone else was that fortunate. I hope I am not the only one!!

You're not the only one. I am incredibly impressed with our management team. Our manager even takes an assignment! I love where I work and hope others are similarly blessed!

We just got an entirely new mangement team and they are amazing. It is great to see management out on the floor helping with patient care when it gets crazy as well as being there to mentor and laugh with. When it gets crazy, the meetings stop and they come out to help decompress the ED. I'm glad the old team is gone. I got a thankyou card in my mailbox thanking me for the hard work I did the other day. They put out bowls of dove chocolate each day for us. I am really glad to work for a team the supports its players.

There has recently been some shake ups in management in my ED. There was so much complaining and a mass exodus where we are that they brought in some sort of consulting team in and basically that's why the shake up has occured. They have yet to determine who will fill 2 of the positions. Sometimes I think they should go outside the hospital to find someone, and then you think you need people who know the system on day one. Who knows....I just do my job and go home....The politics of the whole thing gives me a headache.....:banghead:
