Good Book?

Published

This is my 3rd week working in the OR of a large hospital. We will be training to scrub and circulate for every specialty that we offer (which is everything but eyes and peds).

Can anyone recommend a good surgical manual that outlines the procedure and tools for a large variety of surgeries, so that I can mentally prepare myself and understand what is needed when I am seeing it?

Thank you

I recommend Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery by Jane Rothrock. This is a very comprehensive text that covers the basics and well as the various specialties. It's a little pricey, but well worht it, especially for OR newbies.

Best wishes in your new job!
