HI,
So, i have officially decided that I am going to talk to a navy officer recruiter to try & go back to the navy (prior enlisted). The only problem is that I got a medical discharge from the reserves for anxiety. That issue is completely resolved & i hope with determination & the waiver process that I will be able to once again serve my country. I miss the navy so much & am excited about this prospect! Wish me luck!

I don't think it will be a problem, but you will need a waiver. Take a letter from your provider/psychologist/psychiatrist etc. stating how this is no longer a problem etc. That way you can ask for a waiver right off the bat and speed up the process.

Good luck!! With WTB on that one as well, going in asking for the waiver to speed the process.

thanks! yes, i will def ask for a waiver immediately. i'm truly excited & hope that i'm not dissappointed. needless to say, it's worth the effort.
i just found out that 2 of my very good friends, who are married, are considering being commissioned as well! they wouldn't be nurses but still I'm thrilled for them!
God bless you all!

I have 5 years prior active duty in the Navy and would love to go back in after I get my BSN. The only thing is that I've been out 10 years and I'm 38 years old. I read somewhere about an age waiver if you're able to retire by the age of 55. Otherwise, the age cut off for the Air Force is 47 and I have that in writing. I miss the Navy, though!! My husband just retired with 27 years (yes, he is a bit older than me)
