Hi, This is a thread for the Golden West College RN program for Fall 2025 semester. If anyone is applying, How many points do you have? Good luck everyone!
tnguyen4219 said:Hey everyone! Congrats to those who got admission and alternate status in the program :)) I'm in the alternate list with 61 points (although I'm unsure if that number changed).
I received this email yesterday.
So, now I'm faced with the dilemma of what to do next. If I submit a new application, I would be able to get 71 points because I've been working as a CNA and have accumulated 500+ hours now. However, I saw someone in this thread say they got accepted from the alternate pool with 63 points. Should I submit a new application or should I wait it out? What do you guys think? Please help, I'm already so stressed from the anticipation.
I'm in a similar situation as you. 55 points alternate, if I reapply it would be 65 points. Will that delay my alternate status even longer? I don't know if GWC will email me back in time because I'm accepted to another school and need to start on their requirements soon.

I would send in another application 71 is a stark difference from 61. Do you know if your alternate status will be rescinded if you reapply?

We already did the CSUSB orientation no?
tnguyen4219 said:Oh, that's a really good question. I schedule sent an email, so hopefully, I'll hear back from them later today.
Got an update from the nursing office!
QuoteYou will remain on the alternate list.
So, I'm assuming this means the current alternate status would NOT get rescinded, and they would take the updated application points into consideration when they select from the alternate pool (since they go by multi-criteria point ranking). Let me know if that's what you guys think too!
