Going back to the hospital jitters

Specializes in OB GYN NB.

Hi Everyone,

I have been an RN for 13 years now. I spent 10 years in L&D, then thought I needed a change. I went to an OB/GYN office, and now feel like I need to be back in the hospital before I lose my clinical skills. The wheels are already in motion, for me to get back to the L&D unit, I start in a month. Trouble is, I am having some anxiety about a few things I am hoping someone can refresh me on....

1. What the is standard ratio for mixing Ephedrine to have on hand for hypotensive post epidural pts.

2. I have to take an RN math/med test since I have been out of the hospital for 2 years. I remember taking it WAYYYY back when, but now I am a bit nervous about it. These are usually just figuring out dosages, drip rates, etc. right? If not, what do you think I should refresh on?

Thanks for taking the time to easy my anxiety. I know it will all be fine, but can't help being excited/nervous.

Can't help you with that one- that's anesthesia's responsibility in my hospital.

Yeppers- just basic stuff on dosages and drip rates. I'm sure there's some kind of review you could find online that could help you prepare for it.

Best wishes!
