going to apply to san jac south lvn program

Hello all,

I want to know if any of all have or will be applying to the lvn nursing program at San Jac south or north campus?? I will probably apply next week. I am just waiting to get my transcript updated. Im very nervous and I think I might not get in.. Please help!! What do they base their selection on?? Im just a nervous wreck..:confused::confused::confused:

Does anyone know if the math part on the HESI is hard? Im trying to figure out what I need to study the most. They said it was basic math but idk... and, also can we use calculators?

The math part was not that hard...it was basic math like proportions, measurements and basic addition/subtraction...and you can use calculators. When I took it... I had no idea what it was going to be like, but I am glad that I used common sense and process of elimination on the things that I was unsure about. If you just go over the basic stuff, you will do fine.

I think they let us know by the second week in July...Are you applying for a second time?

Yes, Im applying for the 2nd time. I've had 3 other good friends that made around 85-89s on the HESI and they got in also. Thats why i think you have a great chance of getting in. I know two people that made late 70s early 80s and they didn't get in. 2nd week of July seems so far away! Trying to keep myself busy so i can try and make time go by faster. Make sure you let us know when you find out..

Do I have to study any type of nursing math? I have been in the nursing program at Lee College almost made it all the way through but Failed by a few points :( . trying to get back in at san jac. I didnt have to take an entrance exam there. Kinda worried, Thanks so much for your help.

Hey! I am trying to get into the LVN program at San Jac North. I take my HESI on the 7th of July. I took it @ Kingwood and got an 84. I have been studying so hopefully I can better my score and get in. Good luck everybody!

@ssalinas2610 I applied for the summer @ San Jac north and scored an 77 on the Hesi and I did not get in.

The math is real easy. I have trouble with the vocabulary, but I am studying so hopefully I will do great.:yeah:

how is the vocab hard? Is it because its difficult nursing words you never heard of before? I kinda figure the vocab will be easy? Im applying for North my test is on the 5th when is yours?

I take my test on the 7th. Yes, the vocab has nursing words. My vocab was my lowest test score out of the reading and math sections.

Are you applying for north or south? I would assume either way both HESI's are the same. I have applied for north.
