GMU Traditional BSN Program 2019

Published

Hello everyone, I have noticed that there is not a thread for GMU’s 2019 traditional BSN program, so I decided to create one!

Please feel free to share your application experience, as well as any news/updates related to the program.

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I am becoming more nervous as the decision period approaches.

Thank you for creating a thread ! Hi everyone! I applied for Fall 2019, as well. Hope everyone's application process went well. Anxiously waiting for decisions. Fingers crossed!! Good luck to everyone !!

Hi all, I'm happy you created a thread! I've heard that some people have received decisions in the past as early as April 7th. I'm constantly checking my email and my application status, I'm so nervous too. I hope we hear from admissions in early April! I hope to see you in the Fall. :)

Hello everyone!!! Thanks for creating a thread. I have been so anxious as well but all we can do is wait. On the website it says decisions will be sent by the end of April hopefully it's sooner. I wish luck to everyone!!!! ?

Hi everyone!

Decisions are out. I got put on the wait list. I have mixed feelings about the wait list because I thought my application was competitive but now I'll have to wait again. GMU is my first choice and the only nursing program I applied too because I had all my prerequisites done for GMU. I hope I can get accepted in the next few months, the uncertainty is killing me. Did you guys get into the program? Best wishes to you all!

Hi,

I did receive my acceptance letter. They are giving people who got in a time limit to accept the offer of admission in which I was given a week to accept. Some people who got accepted have other colleges in mind so there will be people who will decline. So stay Hopeful and hopefully You get accepted in. People get removed off the waitlist as late as August. I wish you the best as well!!!!

@Fab24 Congratulations on your acceptance!!! ? It's good to hear that there's a specific time limit in which people can accept their offer, hopefully some spots open up. Do you mind if I ask you what your GPA and Hesi scores are, or what you think really helped your application? I thought my CNA experience would help me and I also have a 3.83 GPA attending NOVA. In hindsight, I could've spent more time on my video and essay but life got a little hectic. Thanks for the quick reply and information!

I got accepted!

@Narkay98 Congrats on your acceptance!! I'm hoping good news will head my way soon. Some girls in my microbio class are also on the waitlist so I'm unsure how big this waitlist actually is! Nerve racking.

Thank you! I hope the waitlist isn't too big. You got this!

I believe that they review the application as a whole therefore, every aspect is important. Personally, the best aspect of my application was both the essay and the video. Indeed, academic grades weigh heavily as well; however, having a strong essay and a well presentable video will give them an insight in regards to your personality and who you are as a student. I have a 3.92 GPA and I am attending NOVA as well.

@Fab24 Yeah I think I mistakenly believed that the strong aspects of my application could compensate for some weaker ones! :( Thanks for your help and I'll keep you guys updated if I get off the waitlist. If I don't, I'll try harder next year... It is what is it. Congrats again on your acceptance and thanks for more info! I wish you the best in the Fall ?
