I'm looking for information on the hospitals in Northern Baltimore County -Towson, Timonium, Lutherville, Cockeysville, Hunt Valley, anywhere between the beltway and the MD/PA line. Has anyone had a hospital job in this general area? Can you tell me about your facility? What does it offer new grads? Is it a safe environment? Are the benefits good? Anything at all would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Hi raviepoo!
I worked at GBMC for a time and it was a nice place to work. I cannot tell you about new grad pay because I worked there as an experienced nurse, but if I remember correctly, they pay on a scale based on experience. So for example, nurses with 0-5 years experience make X number of dollars, 5-10 years experience is X dollars, etc. I am not a fan of University of MD who have recently bought out St. Joseph's and Upper Chesapeake and I don't know anything about Sheppard Pratt. Have you considered working in PA?
I currently work in PA and it has been great. Best of luck!
Thanks for the info. I am trying to make my life more compact. I have to be in Towson twice a week, so I was hoping to find a job near there (and not in downtown Baltimore. That is too far from my home.)
What is the problem with University of MD? The one thing that would be a deal breaker for me is unsafe staff staffing.
Raviepoo,
I did not mean to imply that anything is wrong with University of MD, I am only commenting on my own personal experience. I interviewed at the main campus and was astonished at the level of rudeness and unprofessionalism portrayed by the human resource personnel. For that reason alone I would never work there because as far as I'm concerned, that is a culture that is carried throughout the organization and I'm not interested in being a part of it.
Have you tried MedStar Good Samaritan? That isn't too far from Towson. I worked there as a new grad and I enjoyed it.

Hammer, meet nail of head.
