hi guys! this may be in the wrong spot, but i figured the ob specialties might know what a new mom might want or need! if you are a mother and have suggestions, that would also be welcome input. please feel free to bump this to a more appropriate forum if needed, as i was unsure of where to post this. one of my close family friends recently had a baby (sunday). she is in from out of state and staying with her mother here. she is a single parent. there are extenuating circumstances, but she is here in ca for a month or so. she has already received tons of baby clothes, has a stroller, a car seat, ...most of the usual stuff. any ideas for a gift for her that would be nice or useful with a new baby around? this is her first child and she is 23 (don't know if that makes any difference ). any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks!

If she is breastfeeding - boppy pillows are great!! You can get them for about $25 - $50, can also be used to help prop baby as they get a little older. What about a massage, manicure or pedicure? A haircut - if for anything else, having someone wash her hair and massage her scalp.
Of course, include a babysitting coupon while she is getting her massage, etc...
Good luck and tell her congratulations from us.

Gift card to Wal-Mart, Target, something like that. That way she can get diapers, wipes, all the useful stuff that seems to constantly run out. We got a nice gift card to Target at one of my showers and we put it towards a digital camera to take pictures of the baby. That ended up being a great gift.
Fisher-Price makes a chair that can be used as a bouncer/entertainer for the baby and then adjusts for size so that it can be used as a chair for a toddler.
Maybe a sling to wear the baby. A nursing top for mom.
That's all I've got right now :-).
