2013 GHSU CNL applicants

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hi! Anyone else out there apply for the 2013 Georgia Health Science University's CNL MSN program? I just submitted my application for the early decision Nov 1 deadline. Let's chat!

kjones....do you know if we have to get a laptop or is a home computer okay?

Kjones08 how was pharmacology? And in clinicals...which hospitals did you all do them at?

I have another question too for kjones or any current CNL student. When you take the dosage calculation tests can you use a calculator? I really need to brush up on my long division!!

Oh I agree Britmum! The dosage cal is the main thing I'm nervous about

We're going to be tested about dosage? >.

Sorry for late response! It is definitely useful to have a laptop/ipad or something to take notes in class. All lectures are recorded (sometimes they don't record due to tech issues) but on the off chance that it doesn't record it is helpful to have notes already that you took in class. The amount of information given during lecture will cause your hand to fall off if you were to hand write them.

Pharmacology and Patho are the two most difficult classes in the program. Dr. Stark is a very thorough teacher and is incredibly helpful, but these are two classes not to blow off. Nursing tests are a different way of thinking and it takes a little time getting use to how questions are worded. They are not impossible or designed for you to fail but this is important concepts that are the foundations for the rest of your nursing career.

Im not sure how clinicals are done in augusta but in athens we have been at Athens Regional ( orthopedics, Med surg, and neuro) St. Marys, Winder, Emory (psych rotation or emory group), and Laurelwood (NEGA, psych rotation)

oh yeah. Don't worry about this there is a powerpoint "mini lesson" that you go through by yourself and work through it. Not hard, don't worry about it. You can use a calculator on all your tests as well
