Getting into Mohawk RPN

Published

Hello !

I currently have a degree from UWO in health science (BHSc). I have applied to Mohawk for RPN (Jan 2016), I'm just wondering what my chances are to get in. My high school grades were also good, around 80% in all U level courses.

Is it easier to get in if you already have a degree from a university? I`m registered to write the HOAE in July, any tips for that?

Thanks !! :D

Hi there,

I just finished up a Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph, but I applied to the Mohawk RPN program in my second year and was accepted. I had poor university grades at that point, but I did well on my HOAE and had a low 80s average in university level courses from high school too. I know that's not super specific statistics but hopefully it helps give you a little piece of mind. Best of luck!

Awesome thank you !!

I am currently in the 3rd semester of the Mohawk RPN program and most of the people in my program have had previous university degrees or have gone to university before including myself. I do not think having a previous degree will help you get into the program, they base your admission 50% on your high school marks and 50% on the HOAE. I had around a 80% average in high school as well so I m sure if you did well on your HOAE, you will get in. Even though having a previous degree might not help you get into the program, it will help you alot in the anatomy/patho/pharma course you will take every semester.

Do they ask for university transcripts?

Can I just ask why you aren't applying to a BScN programme for degree holders?

Right now most programs are extremely competitive, requiring over 90% university average to get into any compressed program. At least at western for the compressed program there are only around 60 spots with hundred of applicants, so the entrance average is around 91%. Source, I applied, didn't get in.

Do they ask for university transcripts?

If I remember correctly, OCAS did require me to give the colleges my university transcripts. I was worried because the reason I was going to the RPN program was because I was not doing well my university program. But I still got into the program so maybe they do not look at your university transcripts or they do as a second option after your highschool marks? I m not sure.

Was your university program health related? Also, did you take C or U level courses in highscool?
