Hi, I just want to ask: Does anybody go to the recruitment events that hospitals has for internships/residency programs for new Rns/Grads? Has anybody gotton hire (or knows somebody) that has gotton hired by going to these events? Is it possible to land a job? I ask because I have the chance to go to one next week, but it is so far far far away. I am debating whether to go or not, because it is going to cost alot of money.

Are they charging you for the event, or are you just speaking of the money you will spend to be able to attend? I wouldn't go if they were charging for the event.

I have never attended one, but I know a lot of people that have. Most didn't get hired, but a couple did get hired. Some of those that didn't get hired at the event got hired by some of the managers they met a few months, or weeks later.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time, but weigh the pros and cons, it's not like you're going to go and get handed a job. Is it worth your time for a chance at a job?

Thanks for responding. I am not getting charged for the event. I just have to pay to get there (transportation, gas, hotel, etc. ). You are right, I think it would be just about impossible to get a job the first time at this event. I even heard that you have to go through several interviews before you officially get offered the job. I will weigh my pros and cons. Thanks
