getting a job related to nursing while in program

Published

I work at a fast food place while studying right now :(

how would you go about getting which types of work but you're not an RN yet?

How long would it take after getting CNA cert. to get a job? I live in NE

depends on the job market for CNA's where you are. It took me from October 23 until December 12 o get my CNA class done (BUT that was a weekend ONLY class) i take my state test (Texas) Jan 6&7. In texas you have to be out of class for 15 days before they will let you test for state.

Specializes in None yet.

I plan on getting a job as a CNA as soon as I can so that I will be learning about patient care while I await acceptance into a LPN or RN program! It will give me an opportunity to be exposed to nursing and possibly even use some of the critical thinking I learned in biochem or physiology (or at least think about it while observing)

Anything is better than working in fast food! You could even apply to be a food service worker at a local hospital. That would give you exposure to the hospital environment (albiet minimal) and possibly a chance to work as a Nurse Tech once you complete the first semester of the RN program you are in.

Good luck!
