I was a Medical Assistant at the time and I worked for an insurance company doing vitals, phlebotomy, and urine specimen with chain of custody forms in clients homes. I don't know how it is now but when I was doing it the insurance company called me with name and phone number of client and what needed to be done. I called the client set the appointment, did the required and notified the insurance company it was done. If schedules conflicted and you couldn't match a time turn it back to the insurance company to have the client reassigned. What I noticed was the sooner your work is complete the more clients you got. I got paid per client. It was a great job for extra income. We used the money to save for a vacation!! You make your own schedule so as far as flexible this is it. It will give you invaluable experience as a first nursing job. You will have time to learn great communication skills in a non hurried clinical setting. I'm not sure where you are but look on line for mobile insurance examiners. Good luck if you go for it. Don't forget to have fun!!

I am currently an LPN looking for a job with flexible hours so I can go to school to get my BSN. This will be my first nursing job. I was thinking about trying to get a job with and insurance company doing physicals. Would this be a good first job? And if so how would I go about applying for the job.
