Getting Back On The CNA Horse

Published

Specializes in PCT, RN.

So I found out a few days ago that I was accepted into the RN program (YAY!!)....but then came a new kind of nervousness: what about my job?

I have worked in an office Mon-Fri 8-4 for the past year and a half because the pay was great and I needed to step out of LTC for a while.

I've got until August but I've already begun applying to hospitals in the area for NA and PCT positions. I've applied to telemetry, neuroscience IMCU, neuroscience critical care, orthopedics, acute rehab, intermediate care, cardiovascular, ED, and NICU. I'm hoping I get into one of these positions to get back into the healthcare lifestyle again.

Are there any CNA's that currently work on these units? What are your duties? I understand that they will vary by facility, but ALL of these units are WAY different than LTC facilities that I'm used to working in, so I'm assuming the duties will be different, too.
