Getting accepted into MGCCC

Published

Hello everyone,

So i am applying at MGCCC in Mississippi and will be attending if accepted this come Spring 2019 and I'm really stressing about getting in. Can anyone who got in tell me what grades and TEAS scores they had? I live in the surrounding area so I know they pull from that area first. I have a 3.2 GPA and a 20 ACT i will be taking the TEAS V in 3 weeks.

Thank you!!

Oh thanks for letting me know.Good luck in class. I’m sure you’ll do great. Thanks again. I hope we all get in too ?

I got in for Fall 2019 at MGCCC, thankful I have several work associates going too (study groups!). We are hoping to all get the same section since it's split in two.

Try to get the section with Mrs. Horton! She’s the best. Good luck! ❤️❤️

Congrats OSinOS for getting in! Hey Crgavin. Do you know when we will get our school schedules??

At orientation they will tell you that they’re going to send you an email telling you to register for Fundamentals of Nursing then they will enroll you into the other classes which are dosage calculations & pharmacology. It gives you the option to choose what instructor you want for fundamentals and that instructor is usually the team lead for that semester. I would go with whatever section has Rudolf, Evans, or Horton. What is your email? I have a ton of notes that I’d love to pass down to level one newbies!

Oh my goodness. Thanks, you are too kind! I will keep your advice in mind. My email is [email protected]. One semester down and three to gooo. I hope you have been enjoying your summer break ?

Applying for Fall 2021. I hope I get in!

I was supposed to apply Fall 2020, but covid kept pushing ACT dates back until I missed 20 fall deadline, then I was too sick to sit for the ACT in the Winter and missed the 20 Spring deadline!  Fortunately I finally took the ACT this month and am now ready to submit for Fall 2021!

Wish me luck!

I am wrapping up level 4 and outta that place!! Our class of 140 ended up with 45 graduates.

good luck to you all!

Why such a drop out rate? Do you think that is more due Instructor eliminations or personal choice?

140? Gaw! I thought only 50 were selected

They didn’t drop, they failed ? and many chose to LPN out, or leave and repeat. The classes are huge. Ours was 140 but lately they’ve been at 120 in level 1

Tests are hard and not commercially prepared but rather are written by staff

@ADN2021 we have 13 days left in this semester and it’s went by so fast! The course work isn’t really “hard” it’s just a lot so for sure a lot of sleepness nights & skipping out on family/friend time. We have 2 clinical rotations left and we’ve been learning a lot! When you make your schedule, make sure you pick section 1 with Mrs. Horton.. she’s the best! Good luck :)

Did you end up graduating or did you fail?
