Getting A New Haircut?

I am a nursing student and really want to get my hair cut. My only problem is I want to get a side-cut hairstyle where they shave off all of the hair on one side up to and behind my ear. I don't know if this hairstyle would be appropriate and professional. You can look the haircut up on Google to get a better understanding of it. I just need help and need some advice on if this would be ok to do or not. I don't want to make a mistake leading me to get into trouble and maybe not even get a job, but I also really want this haircut.
