Georgia State FNP

Has anyone else applied to Georgia State's FNP program for Spring 2016? If so, have you heard back yet?

I applied. The deadline was September 15, and I had my application packet complete by late July. That is a looooooooooong time to sit here twiddling my thumbs. Not just twiddling, working full-time in ICU and taking care of a family, but I'm still very anxious to hear something. I have checked daily, and I still have no decision at this time. A coworker of mine is in the same boat. Let me know when you hear back from them.

Yeah, I turned mine in mid August, so I feel your pain haha! I have been checking religiously too, but still nothing! So frustrating. I'm going crazy haha.

I got an email yesterday to set up a time to interview. My coworker also got one. Have you heard anything?

Yep, I got the same email yesterday afternoon. Were we just supposed to email back with the day and time we wanted? That's what I did, and she never responded to confirm or anything.

We are once again in the same boat. We both emailed back that we wanted to go on Friday morning, and we haven't received any kind of confirmation. Maybe she is gathering all the RSVPs and will send batch confirmation next week. Hopefully there will also be directions and a recommendation on where to park and such.

Congrats on getting an interview! That means we will most likely be classmates! :-)

She send out another email today confirming the time and location and all that. Yay! :)

Did you end up having your interview? I ended up getting in. yay!

Yes, I got in, too! So we are classmates. :-)

I'm looking into GSU vs kennesaw FNP. In just curious how the GSU program is so far .

I have been satisfied so far. I am still in my first semester of the 7-semester part-time program, but I have found it to be organized and the faculty are qualified. Advanced Pharmacology is challenging, but I wanted a program that would prepare me to pass boards and become an excellent FNP, and I can see this program delivering on that.

Kennesaw is closer to my home, but my main concern was that their nursing program is married to Wellstar. I was afraid that clinical placement might be difficult for me since I don't work for Wellstar. I would be interested in hearing from a Kennesaw student about that, but I didn't know any.

Best of luck to you!

Hello! I am applying for Spring 2017 Peds NP program. Are the classes set up onsite and online? How does that work? Is it true that the minimum amount to attend class onsite is 4 times?
