Georgia Regents Fall 2014 DNP

I appliad to the fall 2014 2014 GRU DNP prgram. I applied to the Athens campus. Did anyone else apply? I was hoping we could keep each other updated on any information that we recieve. Do any previous applicants have an idea of the timeline of the application process? Thanks in advance.

I got a call this afternoon, as well. They offered me a spot at Athens for the acute care program. I'm really excited, and glad it didn't end up being a four-week wait. Congratulations!

I wrote down the dates for the mandatory three-day orientation in August, but I can't seem to locate the folder I put them in. Was it August 18, 19, 20? I need to make sure I get that on my calendar at work so I can block those days out ASAP.

I do not have the dates written down. Those dates sound correct though. Melby, do you live in Athens? I'll be moving there in June. Now I have to work on getting a job.

Catfishjon, I don't live in Athens. I live in Lawrenceville, which is about 35 minutes away. The two major hospitals in Athens are St. Mary's and Athens Regional. I've heard good things about both, and I know Athens Regional was named to a few of the "Best of" lists recently. One of the nurses I went to school with worked in the ARMC ED for a few years, but recently left to manage a breast health clinic. Northeast Georgia Health Systems is also not that far away, and has amazing employee satisfaction scores. They're supposed to open a new hospital near Winder (Just off Hwy 316 between Lawrenceville and Athens) in the next few years.

Congrats to both of you! That is awesome that we all got accepted. I am not sure of the Athens orientation dates Augusta's were the 20, 21, 22 of August but they may do Athens prior to that. You could probably call to verify the dates with them though. CatfishJon where are you moving from? I have to make the move from Biloxi which is about 8 hours from Augusta, so not too bad. We anticipate moving in late July/early August because I want to deliever my son before our move. So our family we be very busy.

AirForceRN, I think those dates are the same for all of us since all of the campus orientations take place in Augusta. The three of us should figure out a time and place to meet up during orientation...my name is Melody Rice.

Hey everyone. Has anyone had anymore communication with GRU. I got my paperwork for prof of vaccinations. I haven't heard anything else though. Any idea when we will get our schedules?

I got info about the background check and a request for $100 tuition deposit, along with the vaccination request. Nothing else, yet. Also, does anyone have a GRU email yet? The letter with the vaccination info said you can't do the online submission without one.

I got an email from Karen Sturgill today with orientation checklist info and lots of other helpful info regarding immunization requirements, parking for orientation, health insurance, financial aid, etc. So look for it, just in case you still need some info.

I've applied to the GRU PNP/DNP program and have an interview scheduled for next week. For those of you who enrolled at GRU, how is your first year going and what do you think about the program? I haven't been able to find too much information about the program online.
