please help!!!!!! I am reloating to Georgia in may and am applying to emory son. is there anyone here that can give me any information on this school? also I currently hold a gpa of 2.75, do you think i'll have a good chance of aceptance?

Well, you are right Ga Baptist is not a hudge school and there really is not a lot to do unless you create something to do. The school is on a small campus and there are not dorms. There are apartments and most of the people that go to school there are not taking easy classes. You can have fun if you make it fun or go out but there were never any big parties on campus or anything. If you are looking for a party school GBCN is defidently not the place for you. Frankly, if you find a school that has a nursing program and you talk to students that have time to go out and party I would not recommend going to that school. I didn't have a whole lot of free time during nursing school except in the summer but I also worked part-time. If you want to go to the best school in the state though you will choose GBCN. You seem to be someone who has there head on straight if you are 16 and already looking at colleges and GBCN would be a great school for someone like you. Good luck with your decision let me know if you have anyother questions.

My name's Linda, I'm from Hall County and i'm 16 years old. I'll be a senior this coming school year. I've been doing a lot of research lately on GA colleges and their nursing programs. I think i've pretty much made my decision as to which schools i'll apply to next year.

I'm considering: GA State, GA Southern, Brenau, NGCSU, Kennesaw, Columbus and GA Baptist.

I've heard great things about GA Baptist, and would love to go there. But, i would like to know, how is the social life there? they dont have any sororities or frats, and it is a small Baptist school, just for nursing. But, gbcn IS in (or close to) ATL, so i guess that's good, social wise.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not gonna party all the time. I definitely want to do well, so i plan on studying a lot, cuz there's SO much to learn in nursing.

But, i would like to have somewhat of a normal college social life while i'm there-not too much to ask, right? :p

Just to let ya know, i plan on getting my RN/BSN, and i would loooove to work in NICU.

Any info about gbcn would be great. Thanks!

I graduated from a 2 year school in 1973, Dekalb College. I know they have changed their name but don't know what it is now. I worked at Emory for 13 years and received my BSN from there while working there. I don't know what your time table is, but if you want to start making money, you may consider a AS nursing first then work at Emory where you can go to school free. My daughter also was able to go to Emory free because I worked there also. Your children and spouse are able to take advantage of this wonderful benefit. I doubt you could get in with a 2.75 GPA, in fact you may find it difficult to get into any nursing school with that. You may need to pick up some other courses to beef up your GPA to get into the school you want. I think all of the schools in the metro Atlanta area will give you a good education. Like anything, you get out of it what you put into it. Good luck.
