Need Help Finding LPN Refresher Course

Hi I'm new at this. I accidentally came across this site when i was searching on the net for a refresher course that I need to take in Augusta Ga. for LPN. I've had no success. I relocated to Georgia from PA. I've been out of nursing for the last 5 years, since I had my daughter. I'm anxious to get back into nursing. I do have an LPN license from New York State. I would highly appreciate it if anyone has any info. to give me on this refresher course. Thank you.

LPN Refresher Course

$850 for 160-hour course

This course will give you the update you need to reactivate your expired LPN license. This program has been approved by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses. All classes will be held on the North Metro Campus of CTC in Acworth, Georgia. Clinical locations vary and will be advised at a later time.

The LPN Refresher program includes 80 hours of classroom instruction and 80 hours of clinical experience.

Prerequisite: you must be a graduate from an approved School of Practical Nursing and you must provide verification of previous licensure as a LPN. Each student will be required to obtain a Refresher Program Temporary Permit before beginning the clinical portion of the refresher. Each student must also provide proof in writing from the Georgia Board of Examiners for LPNs stating that a refresher course is required before they will be allowed to register for the course. Topics include: Nursing and healthcare, basic concepts of nursing practice, the nursing process, overview of pre- and post-operative care, pharmacology and medication administration, maternal/newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, mental health illness, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, universal precautions, legal aspects of nursing and healthcare, common medical and surgical conditions, nursing approach to management and supervised clinical practice.

Schedule for Fall 2009:

Required information session: Friday, August 28th , 2:00pm, Bldg 400/Room 402

You must bring your letter or email from GA Board stating you need a refresher course to this session. Payment of ½ of fee or $425 is due at this time. Balance due before clinical sessions begin.

Classroom dates: Sept 30, Oct 1,2,7,8,9,14,15,16, & 21 8:00am – 5:00pm, Room TBD

Clinical dates: Oct 19-23, 26-30 Times & locations TBD
