Georgia Health Science University applicants for Aug12

Hey, I am applying to the Athens campus for the CNL program at GHSU. Has anyone else turned in an application? Has anyone heard anything yet? Does anyone know how many seats are open and filled so far?

Would love to hear from some other applicants!

Hello-

I also have been accepted in the CNL program - Athens campus! My husband graduated from this program in December. I am looking forward to meeting everyone! The next few months will fly by! I remember my husband receiving his acceptance letter and then before we knew it GHSU was running our lives. It is crazy how it will be happening again! A bit of advise, if it has been awhile since you have taken anatomy and physiology you should review. First review question, where is your antecubital? My husband remembers the instructors running off the names of things and him thinking "now, where was that again?"

Would anyone be interested in meeting? I have heard that study groups are very helpful. Maybe we could brush the dust off of our A and P books and do some review before classes start. I am attending the Athens campus.

Marie, NOTHING yet! :( I am at work all day today though, so I haven't been able to check the mail. I called the admissions ofc yesterday & they said I should get something by the end of this week :)If I get in, I'd be very interested in getting together & forming a study group!

@sealchip, I do have the books we used, but I would wait to buy them if I were you. The books and instructors change, so they may not use the same books we used. I know we had a different statistics book than the class before us had. Honestly, most people didnt but all the books. MOST of the instructors test directly from the information presented in class. I bought all the required books, but never opened most of them. Those that decided to get the books, rented them from chegg. In class, the lectures are recorded using a program called tegrity. Most people just listen to the lectures, take notes from the lecture, and just study the notes.

What cnlstudent2012 said is true, review your A&P, this will really help you for Pathophysiology. When you review your A&P, also review the abnormal stuff they list in the book. Remember, pathophysiology is the abnormal stuff, but you have to understand what is normal first.

Honestly, the first semester was not bad. Most people still went home on the weekends, we had parties, went to GA games, etc. You just have to manage your time. The 2nd semeter is more stressful. All the instructors warned us about the 2nd semester, again, manage your time.

We had 2 days of orientation the Thursday and Friday before we started school in August. Maybe that will be the same for you. The Athens students had orientation in Athens, and we had ours in Augusta. The orientation was based out of Augusta, but the Athens students were able to see everything on the tv screen, ask questions live, etc. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask! AWESOME!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!! We'll set up a time soon to get together. I just pulled out my A and P book yesterday to start going through it.
