Georgia CNA Law - Training and Beyond!

Published

Hi - I live in Georgia and will be attending a CNA class very soon.

I have a few questions in the meantime.

Does anyone know the Law on which procedures a CNA can do in this state? I want to be able to draw blood, start IV's, and things like that while I am a CNA. Is this possible?

Or can I get further certification or spealization for these types of procedures and then be able to do them while a CNA? How would I go about finding out? I have searched the internet with different topics concering what a CNA is allowed to do in Georgia but have come up with nothing.

I have enrolled in College for the ADN-RN program. I will be starting my Pre-Reqs soon. So in the meantime- I want to work as a CNA or something related.

Where can I get the most learning and knowledge while going to school?

Nursing Assistant

Phlebotomy

Medical Assistant

or other ?????

I want to do the one that can do more things in the field. I want to possibly learn as much as I can while in school. (I absolutely have to work while in school)

What would you recommend?

Thanks for all your help!
