George Brown college Academic pathway for IEN

Anyone who is Internationally educated Nurse applied with George brown. I need to know what has to be included in the CV for the application. Kindly reply

No, the program does not count for OSAP because the courses are Continuing Education. George Brown does have some financial assistance for Cont Ed courses, I would contact them for more information.

i am an IEN. I’m going to take academic pathway for IEN from George Brown this May.

I have got 16 courses to be done. How long will it take to complete all 16.? Where they send the students for clinical practice?

Also my evidence of practice expires on 13Feb2021, will this study help to extend my evidence of practice?

Hi Jass

How long it’s will take you depends on how many courses you take at a time. Some are in-class & some online. Some courses might be full so register early for them if you can. There is a lot of work to do so don’t take too many at once & burn yourself out. Note that some courses have pre-requisites you must take first. The program coordinator can help you map out a plan — just call & make an appointment to see her. She is very nice & helpful.

Clinical is done last. 200hrs per semester at the end, after you finish the theory courses. They place students in hospitals all over the city, usually in acute care or rehab. You will be able to request a certain area of the city to be as close to home as possible but they cannot guarantee a certain placement. But definitely ask.

Clinical hours count as your evidence of practice so don’t worry about yours expiring. The CNO counts all your clinical hours as nursing practice.

Hi, I am Internationally educated nurse from India. I am have some questions. In George brown college website it mentions list of 16 courses  and clinical placement of 200 hours to meet safe practice requirement. Do we need to complete all 16 course. Please if anyone can guide me.
