Hi All-

Does anyone use a PDA (PalmPilot) for nursing school? If so, could you please share with me the pros and cons of using one. I start nursing school this fall and am contemplating buying a PDA if it could be a help. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences.

I use mine a lot. I have Epocrates on it, and ABG Decoder and various other nursing things. It's a handy little tool!

And I have Due Yesterday to keep track of what's due for homework in my classes and when it's due. And it also keeps track of my grades!

The downside of it is, on Due Yesterday, all the typing in of your assignments and when they are due. But it comes with a desktop program, so I guess it isn't that bad...

I like mine.....

Where do you buy the PDA's, and are they very expensive? It sounds like it would be a great help to have one. Can you download things on it , or do you have to purchase programs for it?

I bought mine at Office Max for $200. It's a Palm125. It's black and white...no color, but it does good for me and what I want it to do. I have tons of stuff on it and there's still memory left....

you can buy other memory cards to go into it though if you run out of space (but I doubt you will!). And I have not paid one cent for any of the programs that are on my PDA. There are hundreds of sites for freeware out there....

Julie :)
