My Labor/Delivery preceptorship

  1. It was really a lot of fun! WEll, ok, I only did my second day there yesterday, but it was really fun. I saw a vaginal delivery wiht no epidural-a 5 pound baby that didn't need an episiotomy and didn't tear, either. Helped mom to breastfeed. Got an IV start on my first try, went to an inservice with my RN and got some continuing education credits for it (won't do me any good in school, but hopefully they'll hold over until I graduate), saw a Cervadil induction that caused baby some issues, and so on. Just lots of neat stuff!!!!!
Makes me want to just hurry up and graduate!!!!

Sounds like fun! So I guess L&D is what you hope to do after graduation?

I loved our L&D rotation - got to see a first time mom deliver twins, both vaginally! Awesome! I go back in a couple of weeks... can't wait.
