Check in! How is your semester going? Are you in lab as well?
My semester is off to a good start. We have taken 2 tests in lecture, and 2 quizzes in lab (shortened semester, thanks to hurricane Katrina). Its been a lot more interesting than I thought it would be, plus my teacher is awesome. I have her for lab as well. Lab is cool, already had a girl shake a test tube :smackingf, but other than that fairly uneventful.
How are you doing?

I have Micro and I love it. We have had 1 quiz (I did awesome) and our first test is Wednesday. Lecture is interesting mostly because you can tell that our instrustor really loves teaching this course. I never expected to be working with live bacteria, but we have been since the second lab.
"Could you please pass the E. coli" :chuckle

funniest thing when i was in lab i had some E. Coli that i was growing in a tube well a lot of students were checking out my growth and i picked the tube up and the top accidently came off and i almost dropped it my classmates were all ducking down, moving out the way. Anyway, guess you just had to be there. it was funny :rotfl:

I wish I was in your class! I have Micro 1x per week from 5:30PM -10:30 PM. My professor reads the powerpoint lecture slides that come from the text book manufacturer for 3 1/2 hours, and then we have a 1 1/2 hour lab that follows. There have been no quizes, and our first exam is next week on the first 6 Chapters of the book.
I did buy the book Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple, and that has helped -- or at least I hope! We shall see after the exam next week.
Very frustrating...

OMG!!! I feel so horrible for you. This is my first semester and having a class like that was my worst nightmare, luckily neither of my classes are like that. I would surely fall asleep. Hang in there, hopefully this will be your only course like that!
Yes, but what can you do? I need a B- or greater in all of my classes for my nursing program. I am a pretty good student, so hopefully I can attain an 80 or better average. Luckily, this is the only class I have that is horrible. Thanks for the sympathic ear. It felt good to complain, and I'm over it today. :)

My micro professor also just did the power point for 3 hours and lab for an hour. It was so boring!! I did not do too well in his class at all, but I think he just gave me a "c" so he wouldn't have to see me the next semester. I did learn more than I thought though, because I can reflect on it in my nursing classes and I am like I remember that. It still surprises me that I passed much less remembered anything from that terrible class. Good Luck this semester..Hang in there. It will be worth it in the end. :)
That's reassuring. Thanks for telling me that. :balloons:
