hi mr. l. yes, every one who needs or wants to take a higher level math, at the school i attend, has to take a placement exam to see what class you will need, if any, before taking the desired class/es you are interesting in and have to take and exist math placement exam as well [this one however, does not determine any academic grade but a concept of what you learned in the particular class.

all the best to you.

Just found out that I will have to take this Math Placement Test before I can register for a Finite Math class........:(

Has anyone had to take one of these?........

How are they?.........

The last Algebra I had was about 30 years ago:eek: (Yes, I am older)

yep! I had to take the placement test too...all students have to take it if they didn't recently take the SAT or ACT. For me, it was about 20 years and although I had done well, I wasn't quite ready for college algebra and took intermediate algebra first. I'm glad that I did, it gave me a better foundation for the college level class which is required for the ADN program.

The placement tests aren't that bad. Ours was on the computer and once you finish, they print out your level and what classes you may need to take prior to the college level classes.

Good Luck!

Kris

I had to take a placement test also

However I had to take english ,reading and math

was put into gnc 064 math which is like intro to algebra and then retook the english part to get into a higher class than first assigned

I was very nervous about the math but I definatly was placed where I belonged I did not want to be put to high then lost the rest of my college life.

and it has been 16 years since I was in school:)

I had to take a math placement also, but it was part of the NLN (reading and science too). It was pretty easy math, but some geometry and algebra. It wasn't bad, and I hadn't had a math class in 10 years.
