Intro to Statistics on the web?

Has anyone ever taken Intro to Statistics on the internet? What did you think about it?

I am somewhat intimidated by the subject. I have heard some horrible things about it, but

I need to take the class. I am currently registered for the summer semester for this class.

If I take it this summer it will be in class, but I will have to pay out of pocket because my

student loans don't cover summer classes. With two ailing vehicles, coming up with the money for the class and book seems highly unlikely.

My friend took the class on a Power Pack and gave me her literature. Maybe I should just

read through it and see if I can comprehend any of it. Has anyone ever heard of a "Dummies"

book for statistics?

Thanks a bunch,

Deb

I'm waiting with you on a reply to this one. I am currently enrolled in stats by telecourse and I have no idea what to expect. The book looks soooo confusing.

One of the first classes I took when I returned to school was an online statistics class. Be prepared to devote a lot of time to learning the material and working the homework problems. There are times I struggled with it, but I managed to come out of the class with an 88. I'm pretty sure I could have pulled an A if I'd taken the class in a traditional classroom. If I had it to do over again, I'd take it in person.

Good luck whatever you choose!

Where did you take your class and exams. Are you good in math , or is this a whole different kinda math?

Unfortunately or fortunately, however I choose to look at it, I have to take the class

this summer. This means, no distance learning for statistics. I am on the waiting list

for nursing school at my CC, and they advised me to take it now as opposed to waiting until the fall. Apparently, they review all applicants every semester, including summer, and

if I have not completed this class, I will likely remain on the list.

I spoke to a friend of mine, and they also told me Stats on the web was doable, but he

wouldn't suggest it.
