I FINALLY got to insert a foley cath yesterday at clinical, it was on a man and he was lucid and talkative while I was explaining the procedure to him, got him situated in the bed and he dozed off, I would try to arouse him to let him know what I was doing, don't want to startle someone, he started snoring! lmao My instructor had to stifle a giggle even then lol, I looked at his MARs afterwards and he didn't have any sedating meds on board, he had been kept up quite a bit during the night, but still to doze off during a cath insertion? That one well most likely take take the cake for the rest of the year!
