I am a little lost right now I didn't pass my 3rd sem class by 1% and I feel like the floor was pulled out from under me. I really feel like am alone in this and was wondering if anyone else had experienced this?

I haven't failed a class but I know plenty who did. The ones who dusted themselves off and jumped back on the horse are doing just great and only a semester behind!

yes, I had to retake the metrology. But lemme tell you Im sorta glad I did because the 2nd time I learned it... it all made more sense to me and now I finally 100% understand ... good luck!

Yes. Got a D in nutrition which brought my overall grade down to a C average. Had to keep a B average at my school. Got kicked out and had to start over again the following year. I HATE LEGUMES!

Specializes in Float on all units of the hospital.

Yes. I failed 1st semester clinicals, its a terrible feeling. But I was in full time program now going to go part time, I am just glad I get a second chance to try and only be 1 semester behind. It sure is hard to accept, but if you want it bad enough you will try your best. If this doesn't work out, then I guess I wasn't suppose to be a RN. Good luck, you can do it, just have faith in yourself.

thanks! I just was feeling all alone and just wondering if anyone else had gone though the same thing! I am getting ready to go though the process of appling for re-entry to the program and to take the class over again!

I think you'll probably do great the second time. We have a few retakers in fundamentals and they've pulled it together quite well! Plus, you were only off by 1 point!!!;)

One of my instructors told me that she failed a class when she was in nursing school. Also, in my second semester we had about 15 people that had failed the semester previously. Most of them passed the second time around.

I have a classmate out of our 12 who failed by 3 points, but by the month before the end of the semester he knew it was coming and honestly, I respect him soooo much....he stuck out the rest of the semester (so he had a) the experience and b) knew what he'd be in store for) and sure enough 3 points. But he is signed up again to retake next semester and I have no doubt he will be successful.

I failed our fourth semester by four points. :( A week before pinning and graduation I had to call everyone and tell them not to come! Our course is set up on four semesters (nurs 2100, 2200, 2300, 2400). You sign up for one course and that's your entire grade for the entire semester. Of course, 1 and 3 are offered in the fall, and 2nd and 4th in the spring. So, in other words, I have to wait until next January to retake the course. SIGH. In the meantime, I will challenge the lpn boards and work. Good luck to you!

Yes I have failed a nursing course by .8%. Not even a full point. The next semester I took it over and pass.

i just failed my last class need to graduate by .08% i need 77.5 and got 77.42 in reality i got 77.5 but their grading system is difference this was my last opportunity so six years out the window no degree to show for it. one class i passed all the other class and requirements. i do have my lpn so i may sigh up with rue excelsior
