Okay, I'm hoping to keep this short. I have been to the doctor and I'm waiting for an ultrasound, but that's not until June.
Since last June, my mentraual cycles have been getting shorter but my cramps have been getting worse and worse. In December my doctor told me my ferritin was 8 (normal level 12-300). By the time I went back to get bloodwork done again, I had a period that was mainly clots. Small ones, but I had never passed clots before. He told me that wasn't too significant but come back if it got worse next month.
About a week before my next period, I got really sick. Epigastric pain that was generalized, every time I ate I got sick (ended up only when I ate fatty foods and in the mid epigastric area), got diarrhea, etc. Couldn't think of what was wrong, someone suggested gall stones. But then I started passing clots the size of toonies (for you Americans, it's a large $2 coin).
But now when I have the pain, it's in the areao f my pancreas. But what's wierd is that after I'm sick for about a day (I get nauseus as well...it's a stabbing pain that goes away but comes and goes for about a day), I have frequent loose bowel movements for the next 2-3 days...this does not sound like gall stones. Then someone suggested endometriosis...
What is your opinion?
Amanda :)
Sounds like endometriosis to me which I battled from age 17 until I finally got everything yanked out at age 31; I also had fibroids and adenomyosis. You need an exploratory laparoscopy by your gyn. though, to properly diagnose what's going on with you. I had 3 laparoscopies to laser out my endometriosis before I finally had a hysterectomy, and there are other tx. options too.
I know what you are going through; I felt terrible for almost 15 years. Good luck with this
Kim
Well...to all those concerned...
I had my scope and I have a NORMAL pelvis. The pain has not been bothering me in the last week. That's a good thing, but I'm praying that this time it won't come back. I did have a calm period for 2 weeks before it came back every day for a month. It kind of seemed like a waste, but with my bad family history, now I know everything's alright. My OBGYN still wants me to go to the formal US to say that I don't have gallstones, so that's still in June.
Thanks for keeping up!
Amanda :)

Hello. I, myself, don't know and I am not a doctor, only a student nurse, having had two semesters of Med/Surge already. But, could your symptoms be related to inflammatory bowel disease(Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis??)---- nauseated w/ generalized pain at first and then pain in LUQ... that's a symptom of ulcerative colitis along with the diahrrhea. Or, maby its just your body going thru some changes. Also, have you ever had an ulcer(duodenal or gastric)? Also, check your temp daily, do you have a fever; low grade? It's important that you continue to address your symptoms w/ the MD. I hope I didn't frighten you at all, I just thought I'd give you some help in trying to figure out the nature of some of your symptoms. Good Luck and I hope everything turns out okay for you.:)
