What does 'Registry' in job ad mean?

  1. I'm a nursing student and looking for a 'nurse extern' type job for summer. Alot of the ads say under requirements, "Registry" and "Rotations".
    I know what rotations means.
But I have no clue what is meant by "Registry". Can someone be kind and let me know. I would really appreciate it.

Registry usually means it's a PRN position or as needed. That means they call you when they need you. Those positions usually are not eligible for benefits.

Rotation usually means that you will work rotating days and/or hours throughout the week. ex. Sometimes you may work TTH, MWF,or weekends. It just depends on how the rotation schedules falls when you have to work with other people with the same position that you have. There is not a set schedule.

You may want to contact the HR office where you are applying to find out what they require specifically.

    Hope this helps
