hey, a friend of mine has Pityriasis versicolor on their back. The following meds treat this:
Propylene glycol
Sodium thiosulphate solution
Econazole foaming solution
Ketoconazole cream/shampoo
Does anyone know if I can pick any of these up as OTC drugs at my nearest Walgreens?
nevermind. I just found out that selenium shampoos like selsun will do the trick.

actually the selsun shampoos contain selenium sulfide...pantene anti-dandruff and head & shoulders contain sodium thiosulphate (and don't smell nearly as bad). i looked it up...pretty much any otc athletes foot cream will do the job.
alternate names : pityriasis versicolor
tinea versicolor treatment
topical antifungal agents are effective in eradicating the lesions. these medications include clotrimazole, ketoconazole, and miconazole.
over the counter dandruff shampoos applied to the skin for 10 minutes each day in the shower may also eliminate tinea versicolor.
