Swedish Medical Center Seattle Nurse Residency Program

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hello all,

I am writing this as a couple of classmates and I were discussing it this afternoon. We will be graduating in May of 2016 and we're sent an email through our school telling us to apply for the Nurse Residency program through Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.

There has been what seems to be disorganization and phone interviews with what seems to be vague (what could be assumed to be) job offers. The Swedish job search site was up and the residency program was able to be formally applied for (after several students had a fairly informal phone interview), but when we looked today the online application is nowhere to be found.

It seems that this program is fairly new and they are looking to fill 250 new-grad spots. I guess the reasoning for my post is to see if this is a legit program, if other students have run into this situation, if anyone has been a new graduate at any of the Swedish facilities in Seattle, and what to expect if job offers are accepted.

Hi SnowedIn!

The Residency positions should be posted on the Swedish careers site now. The last month has been extremely hectic as there were 200+ nurse residents that started in Swedish's February cohort. Please know that there is a team of recruiters reviewing applications as quickly as possible for all residency openings. As you can imagine, demand for residency programs is off the charts!

On a side note, Swedish's residency program is several years old and fairly robust. However, this year the size is being doubled--big stuff happening! If you still have questions about the process, I'd love to discuss.
