Does anyone have any advice to help stop wage garnishment in mn from student loans I took out in nursing school?

Consolidate the loans that you have defaulted on. You'll be required to sign up for an income-based repayment plan, unless you make 3 consecutive, voluntary, and on time payments.

Student loans are the one type of loan that doesn't go away, no matter what. The best way to avoid the situation is to not take out more than you can afford to repay, attend less expensive schools, and make the payments on time. Should you decide to further your education, remember the lesson you've learned by allowing the loans to become default requiring wage garnishment.
