Sending Large Groups to Conferences?

I work at the University of Michigan and my unit currently only sends 2 people per large conference, I know that other larger institutions send larger groups and I can see the benefit of more people going to represent and bring back information.

How does your hospital handle this, do they allow more people to go but pay less for each person? Do they use other funds in the budget?

I love working somewhere that education is important and they do send us and pay for it I just think that with the research that and great things that U of M does that more people should go.

if you go from here you are on your own nickel. I am a member of a state education committee and my employer pays my time while I am gone. That is a great benefit. But they will not pay for conferences unless it is their idea for something they need.

Your unit's staffing probably doesn't allow for more than 2 people to have scheduled time off during any one week.
