question about callback pay

I'm a little confused about how my hospital is calculating callback pay. I tend to work OT so most weeks I will have at least 8 hrs OT. I was put on standby and called in after 2.5 hours early in the week on my second day, so I was on "callback" for 9.5 hrs. I was told we get time and a half for callback. When my check came they counted my 2nd day as my 4th day and I got 4 hrs callback and the other 5.5 call back was counted as the same as my already due 5.5 OT for working 45.5 hrs that week. Its seems that I'm not really getting my full callback benefit if I work OT, is this normal?

The same thing happened to me. I didn't recieve the added benefit of the callback pay. Consequently, it was the only day I was ever called in when I was put n "on-call" status, so I never brought it to their attention.

I have no idea if this is standard practice. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation. I'm curious as well.
