Prescription vs otc iron

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone could help me understand whether I should splurge on my iron prescription. With insurance and a discount card, the iron my doctor ordered would cost $150. I'm anemic (hgb 8.5) and there's no way I want to pay that much for a month of iron. The nurses at my doctors office are pretty awful and take it upon themselves to answer questions I insist they ask the doctor. I'm wanting to take otc iron until my next appointment in 2 weeks when I can ask my doctor in person. My question is, would the otc iron supplement cover me until then?

Your physician knows you best, but a pharmacist might also shed some light. Unfortunately we can't advise you in this forum, it is against the terms of service. Best of luck!
