Please help me with my research project

  1. I am studying research and have been asked to critically evaluate two articles. I have chosen to look into non-compliance in diabetics in the community. I have chosen

Rapley,P. (1997) Self-care: re-thinking the role of compliance. Australian Journal of Advanced Nursing. 15(1) Spring 20-25

Maclean, D. & Lo, R. (1998). The Non-Insulin Diabetic: Success and Failure in Compliance. Australian Journal of Advanced Nursing. 15(4) Winter 33-42.

Has anyone done a review on either article or got any advice on critical evaluations?

    Many thanks

This book can answer your questions as well as help you learn to critically evaluate research studies.

LoBiondo-Wood & Haber (1998). Nursing Research Methods, Critical Appraisal, and Utilization. St. Louis, MO: Mosby-Year Book, Inc. ISBN#0-8151-2390-6.

    Good Luck,

Linda I have alkready access to research books and prefer 'The Research Process in Nursing' by Desmond Cormack. I have looked at a number and I find research a philosophical topic. I would have preferred more examples of articles and their critical evaluations. Alas I am in the deep end but have another month to do it in.

If you have a month to complete the project, you're not in the deep end yet.

Analyzing research studies is a complex indepth systematic process. I don't think I could provide you with all the information in a bb post. That is why I gave you a reference. It is possible that I am misunderstanding your question. Sorry I can't help you more. I'm sure you will be able to figure it out or maybe someone else will contribute and help to answer your question.
