I am just curious about the ANA. We did not learn much about this organization in school--at the associates level. I am learning about it more at the bachelors level. But why don't the majority of nurses belong to it??? We all fragment ourselves in different organizations that relate to our work expertise, but why don't we all belong to one same organization?

I know most of the organizations are under the umbrella of the ANA--but we are not a powerful force like the AMA. Dr's have to join when they receive their license. I could not even find out the cost--except that it saves you money for your certification exam.
