Nurses in recovery

  1. Nurses in Recovery -
    Peer Assistance

The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) is conducting a survey to determine what works best for nurses to achieve long-term recovery from addiction, and successful reentry into practice. Anticipated survey benefits include: a better understanding of the extent of addiction in nurses, the recovery process and reentry challenges. This information can be used by those advocating for nurses seeking improved support opportunities from peer assistance, regulatory boards, insurance providers and treatment communities.

Data from this survey is scheduled to be published in the Fall issue of the Journal of Addictions Nursing. This survey will be available on the Internet until June 30, 2003.
