FYI-The Maine Nurses Association voted by over 80% to disafilliate from the ANA today. They join Massachusetts and California nurses in voting to join together as HANDS ON caregivers and address the issues of MOT, staffing ratios, patient safety--all thoses issues that you people talk about on this BB. The ANA is run by nurse executives, who uses MOT in their own hospitals and are too moderate in their approach to OUR issues. Join your state nurses association--get active- join us in helping to solve the problems that ANA has let slide until we are faced with the nightmare of healthcare as it exists today.

Congratulations!!! I'm glad to hear that there was such a high percentage of those of you that voted against the ANA. I glad to hear such good progress. I just hope that your state union does what they say they will.
