Letter Re: Smallpox from DHHS?

  1. I received a letter in the mail from the Dept of Health and Human Services regarding smallpox assessment, vaccination and vaccine information. The letter states they are contacting physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and registered nurses to raise the awareness of these issues and to provide them with resources to learn more. There is a colored poster and a pocket guide included.

Interesting enough in the letter they are asking to register at CDC so they can develop a registry to provide with "real-time" information to help prepare for "and possibly respond to" terrorism events.

I signed up of course...I guess it's just the sign of the times, but I find the whole thing just spooky. I received this at my home, so obviously the are getting the addresses from licensing boards.

Just thought I'd share with you all.

I got one in California about a month ago. I wonder what the cost of sendilng all this information was--and even more concerning is why was it felt necessary. I agree with amki964--pretty ominous.
