Interview with a Nurse.

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi, I am taking developmental psych right now and I must interview a Nurse. I do not know any Nurses to interview so I was hoping to pose this question to the online community. If you were required to take developmental psych, how has it helped you in your employment? Any responses to this are greatly appreciated.

It helps alot because you learn what stage your pt is going through based on their age. For istance, you know that a young adult is in the intamacy vs isolation stage where they are primarily interested in finding a mate, so you know what their priorities are and so forth. Likewise, you know older people, if well adjusted, are working on generativity, giving back what they can to the next generation. It really is relavant and gets very specific when you start talking about all the stages that kids go through. I found it very helpful and interesting. Kind of makes you think about people differently and helps you understand them a little better.

Thank you for responding.
