I need an Exorcism - NOW! (pretty long post...sorry)

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am beginning to think I have evil spirits hanging over my head or that some Gypsy has put a curse on me or I have offended the Mighty Cosmic Forces or *SOMETHING*.

I will try to be concise and to the point. (Right now several allnurses members are shaking their heads, saying, "Yeah, that would be the FIRST time, regnurse..." lol)

Starting January this year:

FIL, who has had rectal/colon CA and prostate CA, was dx w bladder CA and had radical surgery in a hospital 50 miles away, which is SUPPOSED to be a premier teaching hospital. He has had NUMEROUS problems ever since, and has been hospitalized four times, had four surgeries, and nearly died at least twice since Jan 17th. Much of it was d/t some medical malpractice. We have been GROSSLY unhappy with his care and are considering action on it all, but this is up to him. At least for now, he is home and seems to be gaining strength again.

(r/t above) Of course have had to deal w MIL who is driving me and my hubby NUTS. Nuff said.

My mom had major spinal fusion surgery done in March and went home w HH nursing and myself and my 2 sisters to care for her. Fortunately, she is doing well. However, we are all dealing w the fact that she is now and forever unable to do many of her own chores around the house. She can now do her own ADL's and drive her car for short distances and that's about it. We three girls already help w some of her finances and now will have to be the ones to care for her house and other things.

My 25 yr old daughter continues to drive us crazy with her refusal to GROW UP. She is being sued for credit card debt and just doesn't understand why Dad & I will not write her out a check to get them off her back. After all, she says she will pay us back.....yeah, just like she paid the credit card company...

My SIL fractured her foot and that left me & Hubby more responsible for the FIL/MIL situation. (Hubby only has one brother and he works out of town a lot.)

Same SIL had a 12 yr old son developed IDDM and was hospitalized briefly.

One of my 2 Giant Schnauzers developed a problem w his ear and had to have surgery to it. He healed slowly d/t his diabetes, but it seems he is now going to be OK. This is the same doggie that is blind from cataracts from IDDM!

I had a very minor dent in my BRAND NEW TransAm d/t the ice and snow in Feb. Took the car, which at the time only had 750 miles on it, back to the dealer to have the dent sucked out. THEY have managed to damage it WORSE as the paint job didn't match and they scraped the spoiler and the fender with the buffer. Returned the car & showed them what they did. They fixed it again. Again, the paint job was less than good, had bubbles in it and a big run. Returned the car. Picked it up....GEE! GUESS WHAT??? The paint job is STILL a nightmare, they put a scratch on the fender and nicked a chunk out of the leather gear shifter knob! The car is AGAIN at the repair shop. GRRRrrrrrr....

I injured my right foot and had to have surgery to the ankle two weeks ago. This meant I needed LOTS of time off from work from a new position w HH I had just taken. My supervisor knew about the possible surgery when I interviewed w her, so she is not on my case at all. But the loss of income is a blow. Hubby is retired and has a different job that does not make as much money as I do. The surgery went well, but I had more wrong w the joint than we knew, and I ended up having three procedures done at once. PAIN PAIN PAIN........Thank God for Percocet. But my bathroom and bedroom are *upstairs* and I am NOT good with crutches. Scary. My shoulders are still hurting.

I have been non-weight-bearing for 2 weeks and yesterday went back to the doc and had a walking cast put on. Still quite painful, but better than crutches. I will be in this for 3 wks, then have a removeable cast for 3 wks.

Soooooo....yesterday, upon getting my belongings together at home after returning from the doctor, I discover my billfold is missing. Retraced my steps...it HAD to have fallen out RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, but we cannot find it. All I can think is someone saw it on the sidewalk in front of my home and took it. I only had $35 in it, but of course it had my driver's license, SS card, nursing license, bank checkcard, a store credit card, and a few other small things. SO....I have spent most of today making phone calls.

SO: I am trying to make phone calls to report these items stolen/MIA and GUESS WHAT? The local phone company has a problem with their switches and I am unable to make local call-out on my land lines! I can use my cell, but the traffic has been so increased, I keep getting: "All circuits are busy. Please try again later."

****HELP****

Boo hoo.......can I get an Exorcism or at least some tissues and sympathy? I am sorry for the LOOOONG post. Is this one messed up life right now, or what????:o

You are in luck. My heritage is Bohemian Gypsy. Both maternal and paternal. My ancestors came from the old county and I loved my great great grandmother's stories about vampires, werewolves and such as as small child. I also loved the traditions and superstitions and the way they looked at the world. Anyways....

I declare you unhexed.

And since you are Catholic like me- I will say a rosary for you.

Thanks, Raphael!!! That is so cool about your heritage. You say "Old country" ... What old country is that? I have always been intrigued by that kind of heritage and the whole vampire-werewolf thing. Thank you for "un-hexing" me..I feel better already! I think I am really a gypsy, too...:)

Raphael...I meant to add that I assume you mean like around Germany ... I may have gypsy blood, who knows... My great-grandparents came to America from Germany at the turn of the century. I have the Germanic looks with high cheekbones, fair skin and auburn hair. And a temper..... lol

Specializes in LTC, Alzheimers, hospice.

We Catholics do have that strong faith & the power of prayers on our side. Glad to know things are getting better.
